Sunday Recuperations

Not much activity for me this weekend, still dealing with this cold or whatever it is. My throat feels like it have been attacked with coarse sandpaper.

I have still been able to enjoy the company of my dear friend visiting from Ohio. She is one of the few people I am completely comfortable around. No pretense, no need for me to be on my guard. Just relax and be myself.

KAR is the friend I plan to do the High Point-Cape May ride with. She is the person that got me interested in cycling in the first place and it is only fair that I should torture her for 240 miles…..

She has also been very supportive of my weight loss efforts. She also remembers me when I was young and lean. WE have been friends a long time.

Today Missus, KAR and I had a nice lunch at the local sushi joint. Some sashimi and some rolls. All very good. Dear friends enjoying good food.

It has been an all fish day actually. For breakfast I picked up bagels and lox. For lunch we had the sushi and for dinner I marinated a salmon fillet in a marinade of low sodium soy and fresh ginger. Then it was slow cooked on the grill. Very good.

So I have relaxed, enjoyed the company of my friend, had some good meals. Not a bad Sunday….

That is all for now, Back to rest and enjoy KAR while she is here.

  1. Sounds like a perfect Sunday. The only problem with Sundays is that they disappear too quickly. I’m happy that you enjoyed your day. Now see if you can get rid of that cold. Here’s a remedy that seems to work for me. Grate some fresh ginger into a cup, add juice of 1/2 a lemon, 1 tsp. of honey and pour boiling water over it. Let it steep for a few minutes and then let the ginger work its magic. Can’t hurt and the calories are minimal.
