A Brisk Walk in the Woods

The Pace and the Weather were Brisk

I went on my hike today at the Rockefeller Preserve. COLD is one way to describe the weather. I prefer the term Brisk… There is something so wonderfully descriptive about that word….

My pace was brisk as well. I averaged a bit over 4 miles per hour. Not bad for an old man going up and down hills….

I had such a good time. I didn’t do the ten miles I had planned. I should have started earlier. By the time I hit 5 miles the air was turning much colder and the wind was picking up. I decided to turn right instead of left and returned to my car at almost pop-on 7 miles.

My spirits are lifted, my body is energized. I love this

After all the miles I have hiked in the Preserve, I was surprised to come across a bridge I had never seen before...

And Our Dinner

I really love the way we eat.
Tonight was pan seared Yellow-fin Tuna, Sweet Potato, A little bit of Kabocha Squash, and a saute of Collard Greens, Kale, Broccoli, Onion, Red Pepper and String beans, seasoned with curry.

  1. Never mind coming to my house, I’m coming to yours. Dinner looks great! Just got back from our 3.6 K daily evening walk. Brisk IS a great word. My husband thinks the walk is getting easier. Maybe it’s time to lengthen it.

  2. If I didn’t live 3000 miles away I would drop by your house and insist you cook me dinner. That looks AMAZING!

Oh, and the hike sounds great, too!
