Nothing to Fear….

There is nothing I fear more in life than gaining back the weight. It is a steady drumbeat in my mind. “Don’t Over Eat” Bumm Dumm-Dumm Bumm….. Daily, hourly, by the minute…

If I go up two or three pounds I start to fret. I start going back through what I have eaten, what I have recorded, what I have snacked, the walking, the stairs, the hills… I fear the weight gain. I had a blip. I surged to 205 on Monday. Busy weekend? Dinner at a friend’s one night, dinner with company at our home the next….. Light eating Monday, Tuesday….. Weight back to 202 this morning.. Still the fear…..

I figure as long as I have the fear, as long as I react strongly to any weight gain, I will be OK.

Nothing to fear as long as I have the fear….

Ok, I am so DONE with this Cold Weather…

Snow yesterday. SNOW. Sigh. Cold today… and tomorrow… And this weekend…

Can’t ride much in this, just cannot enjoy riding in the cold. But I can and do hike so that will have to do but this is getting so old. I am really ready for the winter weather to LEAVE TOWN.

I know April will be here. I know the warmer weather is coming…

I just really hate the cold. I think it is time for me to start looking south. I don’t handle the cold as well as I did when I was younger. Maybe it is the loss of insulation….

Fruit.

I eat a huge amount of fruit. Today is a fair example I think: Breakfast was a cup of cereal and a cup of blueberries with ½ a cup of 2% lactose free milk. Lunch was 1 cup of strawberries, ½ a cup of blueberries and ½ a cup of kiwi and a banana. Late snack was /12 cup of sliced strawberries….

Sounds to me like a huge amount of fruit but I like it, it tastes good and I bear no ill effects from it. It also fits nicely in the plan as it is relatively low in calories…

Still I worry but I am not sure I should.

  1. Sometimes our bodies tell us what they want or need. Sounds like your’s wanted strawberries, and vitamin C.

  2. Never worry about fruit! So many nutrients and low in calories. Good good.

  3. I’m sure you have nothing to worry about, unlike Steve Jobs, who I heard had an all-fruit diet. Due to eating nothing but fruit he got pancreatic cancer, or so I hear. But from the looks of it, you definitely don’t eat THAT much fruit! Plus you get necessary nutrients from the other foods you eat. 🙂

  4. I think balance is key. Eating a lot of fruit is definitely better than eating a dozen of donuts. I know how hard it is to keep weight off and I started my journey in 2003. Since then my weight has fluctuated between 5-15 pounds depending on the events in my life. I’m learning how to find balance and find healthier ways to manage my weight, but I try not let it bother me. I just get my butt back on track……Healthy Journey!
