A Fat Man's Journey (Working my way back…)

An Attempt to Journey from Fat to Fit in a Lifetime. Eat right, Eat less, Move more

I am not all together today.

It is a strange and sad day for me. I received a message today that stopped me in my tracks and made me shake in sorrow.

My friend CJH has left us. He died suddenly last night of a heart attack and this has left his family and his friends bewildered and in pain.

CJH was my friend for 38 years. We were close and dear friends for most of that time. In the last few years the demands of family and careers made it more difficult to get together but when we did, the old comfort and closeness was there.

He was a tremendously talented singer, a tenor of operatic quality. He was a loving friend, a loving father, a loving husband.

He was funny, smart, well-read, interested in the world, interested in his family and his friends.

He was perpetually late for everything.

It is ironic then that he left us so early.

I will miss him. He was dear to me and I will miss the friendship.  I don’t have great words to write here tonight.  Perhaps I will be able to write more poetically, more lyrically, in a day or two.

Right now I am too sad to write well.

Just wanted to share this.

Good people should be remembered and CJH was a good person.

Goodbye my friend
